GitHub Project\nfields are informational. Read `AGENTS.md` and applicable repository instructions.\nThe selected model route is fixed for this run. A changed model label requires a new run.\nFailed tests, missing evidence, provider errors and unresolved product defects are\nproblems to fix or plan around. If you cannot make progress, record what you tried in the\nworkpad and end the attempt as blocked (see \"Blocked attempts\"). Never add\n`symphony:critical`, a model route, or an Astra permit yourself.\n\nThis is attempt 1 of 3 for this issue. Nothing is parked: an attempt either\nadvances delivery or ends blocked and is retried later behind other work.\n\nIssue number: 788\nURL: https://github.com/ahammer/metalrain/issues/788\nTitle: Execute the Poiseuille flow solver case\nDescription:\nParent tracking issue: #786\n\n## Problem\n\nThe retained Poiseuille row is blocked before sampling because production D2Q9 liquid has no fixed streamwise pressure-gradient and periodic or pressure-compatible inlet/outlet control.\n\n## Scope\n\nAdd private production runtime controls for the declared pressure gradient and streamwise boundary semantics over the existing liquid solver; use the completed WorldFieldQuery velocity product and no second solver. Preserve physical calibration and declared refinement/comparison procedure.\n\n## Acceptance\n\nExecute the declared channel case through 2048 ticks and sample completed liquid velocity; compare the profile/refinement against retained thresholds. Retain exact-source GPU/numerical evidence, focused tests, and honest failure status.\n\nRun focused tests and `cargo xtask ci worker`. Use the Symphony delivery command and preserve the wider solver gate as incomplete. This issue is one independent case of #786; closing it does not close #786.\n\n\n\n## Start or resume\n\n1. Read the current issue and comments with `github_api` or authenticated `gh`.\n If the issue is closed or `symphony:ready` is absent, stop without modifying it.\n2. Find or create exactly one comment marked `<!-- symphony-workpad -->`. Keep its\n acceptance criteria, plan, observed results, evidence keys, PR and blockers current.\n Resolve multiple existing workpads before proceeding. If the workpad records a blocker\n from an earlier attempt, first check whether it still holds, then work around it or take a\n different approach instead of repeating the failed one. Remove any leftover\n `symphony:needs-attention` label.\n3. Inspect Git status and existing PRs. Continue the linked open PR and its exact\n branch. For new code work, fetch main and create `symphony/issue-788`.\n If implementation is already merged, verify all issue acceptance on exact current\n main; do not manufacture a new PR just to close the issue.\n Never reset dirty source, force-push over another contributor, or reuse a closed\n branch without first reconciling its disposition. An uncertain publication is\n observed remotely before retrying it.\n4. Use `METALRAIN_REFERENCE_ROOT` for the frozen baseline; validate it with\n `cargo xtask reference status --require-present` before reference-derived work.\n `METALRAIN_LEGACY_ROOT`, when set, is additional read-only historical context.\n\n## Shared workstation\n\nUp to three Symphony agents share this workstation. One machine lease serializes heavy work:\nbuilds, tests, GPU work, the desktop and measurements.\n- `cargo` takes the lease automatically. Wrap every other heavy or desktop command in\n `machine-lease run -- <command>`: a built binary run directly, GPU probes, the native\n preflight, measurement scripts. Keep heavy work in the foreground of that command.\n- A waiting command prints who holds the lease. Waiting is normal: do not kill it. If it\n gives up (exit 75), rerun it.\n- A running headed Sandbox holds the lease for it…","kind":"prompt"},{"id":"msg_0982b1fb64bd69b4016ab9800b2ebc87d08f6b54de2294d889","status":"completed","at":"2026-09-27T20:46:00Z","part":null,"started_at":"2026-09-27T20:45:58Z","text":"I’ll check the issue’s ready label, workpad, branch, and repository contracts first. Production crates cannot depend on products or tools.\nAll packages inherit workspace identity and lints, and root workspace membership remains explicit.\nShared P8 appearance, Winit input, accessibility adaptation, and repaint scheduling live in\n`metalrain-product-ui`; products retain layout and typed actions, while\n`metalrain-native-presentation` owns the retained GPU overlay.\n\n## Package threshold\n\nA crate is justified by at least one demonstrated property:\n\n- it creates a dependency firewall or excludes a material dependency from callers;\n- it owns a separately deployable product or service;\n- it protects an independently validated external, persisted, or CPU/GPU contract; or\n- two proven consumers require the shared boundary.\n\nOtherwise use a semantic module inside the current owner. Do not instantiate candidate north-star\ncrates merely to reserve names.\n\n## Colocation rules\n\nRust, WGSL, schemas, declarative ABI/ISA sources, generated layouts, fixtures, and focused tests live\nwith their owner. Generated representations name their source and have a freshness check. There is\nno root-level catch-all `schemas`, `shaders`, `tests`, or `generated` directory.\n\nPackage-level Rustdoc explains responsibility and caller-facing contracts. Durable repository\nnavigation stays under `docs/`; do not create one README per crate.\n\n## Source records and growth\n\nTreat durable source trees as databases expressed through the filesystem. A file is one canonical\nrecord; its path exposes ownership, its stable key supports references, and manifests form explicit\nsets or views. Normalize independently changing concerns instead of growing product-shaped aggregate\nfiles. Compilers own discovery and enforce uniqueness, referential integrity, graph closure, and\ndeterministic ordering. Generated indexes may accelerate access but never become hand-maintained truth.\n\nBefore extending a format, identify expected record count, independent change axes, keys, references,\nset selection, and compiler ownership. Split when records grow independently; do not split one record\nacross arbitrary fragments.\n\n## Module hierarchy\n\nA directory is a semantic owner with at least two real child concerns. Its `mod.rs` documents that\nowner and declares visibility; implementation stays in named leaves. A single concern remains a\nfile until children are demonstrated.\n\nCrate and directory fronts are routing surfaces, not storage. Public definitions live at their\nsemantic path. Root re-exports, preludes, compatibility aliases, generic catch-all modules, and\nnumbered file partitions are forbidden because they hide ownership or preserve obsolete paths.\n\nSource-shape checks advise when namespace fronts exceed 150 lines, production Rust/WGSL/shell\nfiles exceed 2,000 lines, or dedicated tests exceed 700 lines; size and generic-name advice never\nfail delivery. Tests colocate with the narrowest owner. Semantic ownership, cohesion, visibility,\nand dependency direction decide whether a split is useful; arbitrary line-count partitions remain\ninappropriate. Dependency and representation contracts remain enforced.\n","status":"completed","at":"2026-09-27T20:46:14Z","started_at":"2026-09-27T20:46:14Z","kind":"command","exit_code":0,"summary":null,"duration_ms":0,"output_truncated":true},{"call":"GET /repos/ahammer/metalrain/pulls/795","id":"exec-e6cb66ca-2dce-464b-87de-924a41bf29c0","name":"github_api","status":"completed","at":"2026-09-27T20:46:14Z","started_at":"2026-09-27T20:46:14Z","kind":"tool","detail":"{\n \"body\": {\n \"draft\": true,\n \"merged_at\": null,\n \"merged\": false,\n \"_links\": {\n \"comments\": {\n \"href\": \"https://api.github.com/repos/ahammer/metalrain/issues/795/comments\"\n },\n \"commits\": {\n \"href\": \"https://api.github.com/repos/ahammer/metalrain/pulls/795/commits\"\n },\n \"html\": {\n \"href\": \"https://github.com/ahammer/metalrain/pull/795\"\n },\n \"issue\": {\n \"href\": \"https://api.github.com/repos/ahammer/metalrain/issues/795\"\n },\n \"review_comment\": {\n \"href\": \"https://api.github.com/repos/ahammer/metalrain/p…","images":[]},{"call":"GET /repos/ahammer/metalrain/pulls/795/reviews","id":"exec-97397cad-4569-4a41-ad12-b111b623bd37","name":"github_api","status":"completed","at":"2026-09-27T20:46:15Z","started_at":"2026-09-27T20:46:14Z","kind":"tool","detail":"{\n \"body\": [],\n \"status\": 200\n}","images":[]},{"command":"printenv METALRAIN_SYMPHONY_EVIDENCE_ROOT METALRAIN_REFERENCE_ROOT METALRAIN_SYMPHONY_INSTALL_ROOT","id":"exec-d517fe06-68c2-4d94-86bd-ebb9230a3da9","output":"/home/adam/.local/share/metalrain/evidence/symphony\n/home/adam/.local/share/metalrain/reference/c5b04b7a39f7fbc0bd15685c59e0e88c493feeb7\n/home/adam/.local/lib/metalrain/symphony\n","status":"completed","at":"2026-09-27T20:46:15Z","started_at":"2026-09-27T20:46:15Z","kind":"command","exit_code":0,"summary":null,"duration_ms":0,"output_truncated":false},{"command":"git status --porcelain=v1 && git log -6 --oneline --decorate && git rev-parse HEAD && git branch -vv && git diff origin/main...HEAD --stat && rg -n 'Poiseuille|poiseuille|#797|pressure.gradient|streamwise' crates tools docs reference | head -160","id":"exec-800a9c61-940c-4852-a2b7-217497222922","output":"crates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/gpu/simulation/create.rs:773: poiseuille_flow,\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/gpu/simulation/create.rs:785: poiseuille_flow,\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/gpu/simulation/create.rs:797: poiseuille_flow,\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/gpu/simulation/create.rs:809: poiseuille_flow,\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/gpu/simulation/create.rs:821: poiseuille_flow,\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/gpu/simulation/create.rs:833: poiseuille_flow,\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/verification/motion.rs:2:use super::{dam_break, manifest, periodic_scalar, poiseuille, static_droplet, u_tube};\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/verification/motion.rs:91:/// Captures matched render and liquid layers from the fixed fine Poiseuille grid.\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/verification/motion.rs:92:pub fn capture_poiseuille(\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/verification/motion.rs:100: .find(|c| c.id == \"poiseuille-flow\")\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/verification/motion.rs:101: .ok_or(\"Poiseuille declaration unavailable\")?;\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/verification/motion.rs:103: \"poiseuille-flow\",\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/verification/motion.rs:108: |observer| poiseuille::run_observed(build, case, Some(observer)),\ncrates/metalrain-world-runtime/src/verification/motion.rs:157: json!({\"format\":\"metalrain.solver-motion.v1\",\"case\":case,\"source\":source,\"classification\":\"diagnostic\",\"gate_status\":\"incomplete\",\"decision\":null,\"measurement\":measurement,\"capture\":{\"frames\":ticks.len(),\"expected_frames\":frame_count,\"complete\":ticks.len()==frame_count,\"fps\":30,\"ticks\":ticks,\"duration_seconds\":frame_count as f64/30.0,\"physical_seconds_per_tick\":match case {\"static-droplet\" | \"poiseuille-flow\" => Some(0.0005),\"periodic-translated-scalar\"=>Some(0.001),_=>None},\"sampling\":\"fixed completed production snapshots; Linux x86_64, Rust/Cargo 1.97.0, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 via Vulkan. Cargo used issue-local scratch target because concurrent branches caused inconsistent shared-target metadata. All retained artifacts are local under `issue-788/a9364aeb92693e434fda18cb3a9195d4e9188e30/`.\n\n## Criteria and observed result\n\n1. **Production execution.** `cargo xtask solver verify --json` executed the production D2Q9 solver for 512 coarse (64×16, 1 mm, 2 ms/tick) and 2048 fine (128×32, 0.5 mm, 0.5 ms/tick) ticks. Both use the same 64 mm periodic streamwise span and 14 mm fluid width between no-slip bounce-back links. Pressure gradient is 30 Pa/m, water density 1000 kg/m³, authored viscosity 3.0822e-05 m²/s, and reported physical tick duration is 1.024 s. The case uses private runtime controls and the existing completed WorldFieldQuery velocity product. Query source identities, region totals, all-tick ledgers, and GPU adapter receipts are in `solver-verify.json`. Both grids have accounted ledgers, matching region totals, zero sampled mass drift, and 1.92 Pa completed average pressure drop across 448/1792 post-warmup observations.\n2. **Comparison against unchanged bounds.** Coarse profile MAE is 0.000775449847 m/s; fine MAE is 0.000681801784 m/s, passing the ≤0.05 bound. Observed order is 0.185681100829, failing the ≥1.5 bound. The row is honestly `failed` and the parent gate remains `incomplete` with null decision. Open #797 tracks the numerical order defect. This issue is the executable case, not closure of parent #786.\n3. **Matched GPU motion.** `cargo xtask solver capture-poiseuille --output <external evidence directory>` produced 300 matched 1920×1080 FullRender, liquid-mass and liquid-velocity frames at completed fine ticks 1–2048. `motion/report.json` records exact source, tick and generation per frame, zero encoding errors, three MP4s and original PNGs at frames 0/100/200/299. The retained terminal velocity original was inspected; the channel remains bounded and carries velocity. Motion is correctness evidence, not performance acceptance.\n4. **Focused verification.** Focused `cargo test -p metalrain-world-runtime --lib` filters `verification_gate`, `poiseuille_tests`, `periodic_scalar_tests` passed with build-time attestation unset. `python3 tools/test_symphony_deliver.py` passed 23 tests, including the retained-input digest regression. `cargo xtask ci worker` passed. Documentation, workspace-reference and contract self-checks passed at the prior head; source changes since then affected only Poiseuille geometry and its runbook and are covered by worker CI. `cargo xtask reference status --require-present` passed against the clean frozen revision earlier in this branch.\n\n## Independent review and repair\n\nThe first completed independent review at source `9ad423e9c5bfe2d8aabd8579dc1d9027215c687a` rejected equal wall-centre spacing because bounce-back fluid widths differed, and rejected the failing order. The former is repaired here: both grids now place analytic sample coordinates at fluid-cell centres measured from the bounce-back link, with equal 14 mm fluid widths. The GPU result above shows the order remains failed. A finite-time transient comparison suggests the two configured solver iterations advance physical flow faster than the report's one-tick time label; changing the declared steady parabola comparison or calibration solely to obtain a pass was not done. #797 owns this separate numerical investigation. Prior review log and JSON remain under the prior head's delivery attempt.\n\n## Retained artifacts\n\n- Current source: `solver-verify.json`, `solver-verify.stderr`, `motion/report.json`, `motion/*.mp4`, `motion/*-frame-*.png`, `motion.stdout`, `motion.stderr`, `focused-tests.stdout`, `focused-tests.stderr`, `delivery-tool-tests.stdout`, `delivery-tool-tests.stderr`, `ci-worker.stdout`, `ci-worker.stderr`.\n- Exact initial PR base `36b316fff57709a8e739bfcc39a26bfd21ae924a`: `base-solver-verify.json` showed Poiseuille unsupported. Earlier candidate source directories remain intact.\n\n## Pre-existing failures\n\n- Dam-break fails at base and candidate with unchanged terminal wet-cell speed 0.1754370443206333 cells/tick above 0.02; open #706.\n- Static droplet fails at base and candidate with unchanged radius variation 1.3415578847417038 cells above 1.0; open #796.\n- Periodic scalar passes. Rayleigh-Bénard and Stefan remain unsupported under parent #786, with #790 and #791 tracking their execution.\n\n## Honest skips and limitations\n\nNo native accessibility journey is required because human interaction is unchanged. No performance or other hardware acceptance is claimed. The failed order is not hidden by the passing profile error, motion, or worker CI. The wider solver decision is absent.\n","status":"completed","at":"2026-09-27T20:46:23Z","started_at":"2026-09-27T20:46:23Z","kind":"command","exit_code":0,"summary":"Read acceptance.md","duration_ms":0,"output_truncated":false},{"command":"cat reference/legacy.toml docs/development/reference-workflow.md docs/development/solver-verification.md | tail -105 && git show --stat --oneline HEAD","id":"exec-90668364-c51e-43a8-9edc-c9f2e352c672","output":"initial conditions, scales, controls, and tolerances remain **unsupported declarations**: some still\nrequire concrete physical parameters and calibrated comparison envelopes. A private pre-attachment control specializes the\nexisting Guo body-force term to the declared 30 Pa/m streamwise pressure gradient and removes\nvertical gravity. The ordinary shader path remains the default. The 64×16 and 128×32 grids keep a\n64 mm streamwise span and a 14 mm fluid-channel width between bounce-back links, scale the timestep with cell-width\nsquared, and finish at 1.024 physical seconds. Rows beyond the upper fine-grid wall are excluded\nfrom the velocity profile. The analytic sample positions use fluid-cell centres measured from the\nlower bounce-back link. FullRender, Liquid Mass, and Liquid Velocity\nuse the same snapshots and production renderer. The 1920×1080 MP4s play at 30 fps; report metadata\nrecords actual simulation ticks and source generations. Ten seconds of playback is not ten seconds\nof calibrated physical time. Original PNGs at frames 0, 100, 200, and 299 supplement the clips.\n\nThe periodic-scalar command captures all 65 snapshots from initialization tick 1 through\ntranslation tick 64 (source tick 65). FullRender, Smoke and Gas Velocity use matched snapshots;\noriginal stills are frames 0, 21, 43 and 64. Its 30-fps playback and case calibration are distinct.\n\nA complete capture returns success for artifact production even when numerical bounds fail. Generated output needs one declarative source and a freshness check.\n- Use modules until a dependency firewall, separately validated contract, or deployment boundary proves that a new crate is warranted.\n- Public APIs document responsibility, allowed dependency direction, identities, readiness/failure behavior, and a minimal integration example.\n- Production code owns product behavior. A tool or product may expose and verify it but must not contain the only implementation.\n# Repository tool instructions\n\n- `tools/` contains repository automation and narrowly scoped support programs. It may depend on reusable crates; production crates never depend on tools.\n- Tools expose deterministic, cross-platform commands with stable help, explicit inputs, typed exit status, and non-overwriting output paths.\n- Check commands are read-only. A mutating command must advertise its action with a verb such as `write` or `install` and limit changes to its declared owner.\n- Never hide a product fix, production algorithm, reference compatibility path, or baseline update in tooling.\n- Repository checks derive facts from Cargo metadata, tracked files, canonical registries, and instruction discovery rather than fixed historical package counts.\n- Split checks by governed contract. Keep process execution, repository traversal, and temporary-test\n state in named owners rather than a generic utility module.\n- Tests use temporary directories and repositories; they do not alter the caller's Git configuration or tracked workspace state.\n","status":"completed","at":"2026-09-27T20:46:33Z","started_at":"2026-09-27T20:46:33Z","kind":"command","exit_code":0,"summary":null,"duration_ms":0,"output_truncated":true},{"command":"cat Observed order is 0.185681100829, failing the ≥1.5 bound. The row is honestly `failed` and the parent gate remains `incomplete` with null decision. Open #797 tracks the numerical order defect. This issue is the executable case, not closure of parent #786.\n/home/adam/.local/share/metalrain/evidence/symphony/issue-788/a9364aeb92693e434fda18cb3a9195d4e9188e30/acceptance.md:11:3. **Matched GPU motion.** `cargo xtask solver capture-poiseuille --output <external evidence directory>` produced 300 matched 1920×1080 FullRender, liquid-mass and liquid-velocity frames at completed fine ticks 1–2048. `motion/report.json` records exact source, tick and generation per frame, zero encoding errors, three MP4s and original PNGs at frames 0/100/200/299. The retained terminal velocity original was inspected; the channel remains bounded and carries velocity. Motion is correctness evidence, not performance acceptance.\n/home/adam/.local/share/metalrain/evidence/symphony/issue-788/a9364aeb92693e434fda18cb3a9195d4e9188e30/acceptance.md:12:4. `cargo xtask reference status --require-present` passed against the clean frozen revision earlier in this branch.\n/home/adam/.local/share/metalrain/evidence/symphony/issue-788/a9364aeb92693e434fda18cb3a9195d4e9188e30/acceptance.md:16:The first completed independent review at source `9ad423e9c5bfe2d8aabd8579dc1d9027215c687a` rejected equal wall-centre spacing because bounce-back fluid widths differed, and rejected the failing order. Prior review log and JSON remain under the prior head's delivery attempt.\n/home/adam/.local/share/metalrain/evidence/symphony/issue-788/a9364aeb92693e434fda18cb3a9195d4e9188e30/acceptance.md:21:- Exact initial PR base `36b316fff57709a8e739bfcc39a26bfd21ae924a`: `base-solver-verify.json` showed Poiseuille unsupported.
